This week I have been mainly working on the Star Blanket, which is now finished! I’ve had a few days where I’ve barely crocheted as I wasn’t feeling great and even crocheting hurt and was tiring. But feeling more normal now thankfully.
Here’s the finished Star Blanket:
It’s about as wide as my king-size bed now, so ended up quite big! I found an extra cake of yarn that I’d previously missed, so it got bigger than I thought it would. It’s been fun to make and it looks nice on my bed (although now I want a duvet cover that goes better with it!).
I started yet another new project on Friday night… I have been getting into wearing pinafore / dungaree dresses, bought a couple on ebay, and then I thought to myself, surely I could crochet a nice pinafore dress and it wouldn’t be too hard. So I found an old project, a cotton dress, that I never finished and frogged it back for a new pinafore dress.
Doesn’t look very exciting yet as I’m starting at the bottom. It’s going to be a skirt section, then will add a front ‘bib’ (is that the right terminology?), back section and straps to finish. I’m basing it loosely on one of the dresses I bought. Hopefully I will actually finish this dress, but it’s going to take some determination as it’s not the most exciting thing going round and round for ages until the skirt is long enough! We’ll see. I could run out of yarn too, as I don’t know how much I’ll need… might end up just being a skirt if that happens! The yarn is Stylecraft Naturals Organic Cotton in shade 7201 Indigo Wash.

Love the star blanket. I’ve made a hexagonal one previously but think I’d lose the plot with anything more complicated. Perhaps a pale blue or white duvet cover to show it off?
