Sunday Crochet Update 16/3/25

This week I’ve made more progress on my Alpaca Diamonds jumper. I decided the other day that it would be nice to wear it to Wonderwool Wales in April as that’s where I bought this yarn last year (from Penrhallt Alpacas). So this has given me extra motivation to work on it. It doesn’t need much more length on it now, and then there will just be the sleeves to do. I’m considering maybe putting a couple of rows round the neck to bring it in a bit as it’s a rather wide neck at the moment. We’ll see.

So here it is laid out:

It was modeling it without a t-shirt underneath and it feels so soft and lovely 🙂 Makes me think maybe that’s how I should wear it, although then you have the issue of getting too warm and not being able to take it off! Perhaps a vest top underneath. Anyway, let’s actually get it finished before worrying about that!

I have also started yet another hexy this week! After our sort out I was reminded of this lovely King Cole Beaches yarn in my stash. I had started something with it but lost my enthusiasm for it. However I did like the stitch, so decided to use it to create a hexy instead. It makes a nice texture using alternate front and back loop htr/hdc. The beachy colours make me think ahead to summer, so maybe this will end up a nice little summer cardi for cooler days.

  1. That’s a lovely style and colour. If it was me, I would bring the neck in a bit for a snugger fit. M&S used to do a silky shaper vest which would stop the jumper catching as it could on a t-shirt. You always have lovely shades and colours in your work.
