Sunday Crochet & Jigsaw Update 17/8/25

This week I decided to start something with another one of my birthday balls of yarn. This is another Jewelspun, but the chunky version (last item was made with the aran version), in colourway Emerald. I’m using the pattern Wavy Tunisian Knit Cowl by Kris Stone. It’s the first time I’ve done something like this in Tunisian and it’s really cool. There was a short rib section, and then there are groups of knit stitches interspersed with increases and decreases to get a wavy pattern. It’s done in one long line to be sewn together when finished but I’ve folded it over here so it looks more like the finished item. You’d probably see the waves better on a plain yarn, but I think it looks really pretty. I will do some more waves and finish with another short rib. It will be lovely and snuggly in the winter.

I have also done a few rows of the Tunisian Fade Shawl, and one row of the Clear Skies cardi this week, but there’s not a lot to photograph there!

This week I finally finished my 2nd birthday jigsaw. I think I started it on 3rd August, and I finished it yesterday afternoon on 16th August, so nearly 2 weeks (although most of that was brief periods after work). It was definitely more challenging with the odd shaped pieces, but not so challenging to make me get frustrated and give up!
