About Me

I’m Suzy. I live in mid Wales with my grown up children and two cats.

I used to be obsessed with nature photography but this has lessened particularly after breaking my ankle badly in 2023. I used to love getting macro photos of flowers, insects and bugs but it’s harder to squat now. Still take a photo here and there now. Over the years I have collected many photos of flowers, dragonflies, damselflies, butterflies, bees, etc and you can see these in the Nature Guide section.

My main obsession now is crochet. I learnt as a child, and have been crocheting constantly for the last 10 years or so. I have made many cardigans, jumpers, blankets, hats, scarves, etc, etc! If you see me wearing any kind of knitwear (crochetwear?!), I will have made it! I’m now developing an obsession with gorgeous hand dyed yarn! I’m hoping to post more regularly on here with my latest crochet projects.

I do also do some writing, dabbling in poetry from time to time.

I have fibromyalgia as well as lingering issues from my ankle fracture, which required 2 weeks in hospital and a bunch of metalwork to hold it back together. So I’m not able to be as active as I’d like to be.

  6. You have some great photos and certainly have macro nailed. I got a new macro lens this year and love it too. Your dragonfly photos are amazing – they are very difficult creatures to photograph as you say. I look forward to seeing more of your photos.

  15. I totally get that about composing with the eyes when the camera is not handy. Photography feeds my desire to know…to discover…to appreciate. I’m sure your photos and words will keep me well fed. Best wishes from Brisbane, Australia.
